Supplied with extensive visuals designed by creative agency Diva, on behalf of Activison, A2D then handed Simpson Group the brief:
Make the creative visuals become a reality;
Design a wide range of multipurpose POP materials that will be practical, cost effective, fit for purpose and retail friendly.
The POP items were to be designed to promote the Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock PS campaign and to launch the new game title GH6 Warriors of Rock in September 2010.
The display material would have strategic positioning within the gaming sections of major and independent retailers and would be required to be on site for 6 to 8 weeks, from September in the lead up to the key Christmas trading period. All designs would therefore have to comply with the approved retail POS design guidelines.
Simpson Group’s 3d CAD designers set about creating a Stockee, MU Shipper, Stacker Unit, Pallet Wrap and Dummy Boxes which met the requirements of the brief. Sized to suit the products perfectly and to fit within all retailer guidelines, Simpson Group’s team focused on making these units simple but as robust as possible, to allow them to be assembled, merchandised and transported with ease.
The various styles of display units would be required to hold the stand alone Playstation game and also the Guitar Bundle and Band Bundle packs. One size would therefore not fit all on this project, so our team paid great attention 2 detail to ensure that each design complemented the product packaging perfectly, with optimum use of space made.
Litho printed and produced in EB Flute corrugate, over 14,800 units were manufactured for A2D on behalf of Activision during September 2010.
Whether a Pallet unit for the larger grocery multiples or the dummy product boxes for window displays in the smaller outlets, ‘rock is back’ as Guitar Hero 6 Warriors of Rock is promoted in Asda, Costco, Game, HMV, Gamestation and Tesco.
Simpson Group was delighted to be a part of this product launch and important marketing project for both A2D and Activision.
