In July 2010 Simpson Group began developing a new POP concept that was to be ‘unique in design’, as per the client’s request.
We are proud to have made a marketing dream become a reality for next.
The brief from next was to produce a box style graphic of varied dimensions to be displayed on the shelving areas within every next retail store. The graphic would be required to sit alongside next’s Above Carcase Boards and complement them in design. These proposed boards although durable would also be required to be lightweight.
The signage and its’ message should also enhance and complement the new fashion collections and promote the sense of the season.
The main challenge that Simpson Group’s CAD team faced was creating a design that would not bend or bow in the high temperatures that they would be subjected to in the stores.
Various concepts were trialled and tested. The material and product construction was crucial and after several concepts and full scale mock-ups, a successful design solution was finally approved.
Printed on E Flute corrugate, cut, assembled and glued, the picture box graphics were created in 5 sizes —- 420 x 600mm, 500 x 700mm, 600 x 900mm, 1200 x 1200mm and 1500 x 1200mm.
These stunning picture box graphics are not only fit for purpose and perfectly promote the season’s clothing range but they are a beautiful enhancement to the store environment and complete the in store decoration.
From the Brief, to design, production and delivery, 1055 picture boxes packs first arrived in next stores in December 2010. Working in collaboration, next and Simpson Group had created a unique design concept using temporary POP materials which exceeded expectations and has now become a regular POS requirement. The key elements of the 2011 Summer Collection is now beautifully on display in the current picture boxes.
