As part of our ongoing search for improvement, Simpson Group is taking part in a large national Study into the factors that can affect health and well-being at work. The Study is being carried out by researchers in the Division of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University and is funded by the Economic & Social Research Council. It is led by occupational health psychologist Dr Maria Karanika-Murray and work psychologist Dr George Michaelides, and will be completed by September 2011.
The aim of the Study is to investigate how the organisational context, culture and work systems impact on the quality of working life.
The research team will administer a survey across Simpson Group staff members, examine the results, and give expert feedback and advice on actions that can be taken to improve the health and well-being of our team. The survey started in February 2010 and will be re-administered four times over 2010.The Study is completely independent of Simpson Group and its management. Employees from across our organisation will be involved in all aspects of the study and will be kept informed of progress at key stages of the study.
We hope that the results and recommendations of this Study will help to improve the quality of working life for all employees across the UK. We, at Simpson Group, know that our most important asset is our staff and we wecome this opportunity to ensure that our working environment is the best it can be.
